Associação dos Amigos dos Museus de Bauru

The A.A.M.B. (Association of the Friends of Bauru Museums) is a railroad preservation society in Bauru city, São Paulo state, Brazil. Bauru is the departing point of the former Noroeste do Brasil Railroad (NOB), as well an important junction of the former Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro and Estrada de Ferro Sorocabana. A.A.M.B. would like to tell the public about the preservation efforts of five wooden cars, being three administration/sleeper cars (including the Presidential Car, used by Getúlio Vargas), one luggage car and one restaurant car. All of them were built during the forties in the NOB works. A steam locomotive, #278, is also being preserved.

This work is being supported by the Novoeste railroad (the NOB railroad under private administration) and the Bauru Town Hall. A.A.M.B. is seeking for volunteers to help in the restoration works, money donations and patronage of firms. Nowadays A.A.M.B. has twelve volunteers; six of them are effectively performing the restoration works. The work in progress is continuously being photographed and recorded in video, as well being monitored by two Novoeste engineers.

A.A.M.B., with the help of the Federal Attorney, is trying to get at least one unit of the former Companhia Paulista electric locomotives that now are out of service, namely an EP-4/V8 (#6373), a Little Joe/Russa (#6451) and a Vanderléia (#6358).

A A.A.M.B. - Associação dos Amigos dos Museus de Bauru é uma entidade de preservação ferroviária do município de Bauru/SP. Sendo Bauru/SP, berço da Estrada de Ferro Noroeste do Brasil (NOB) como também acolhedora do entroncamento com EFS e CPEF, vem tornar público, o nosso trabalho de restauração de cinco carros, sendo três carros administração/dormitório (inclusive o Carro Presidencial, usado por Getúlio Vargas), um carro-bagagem e um carro-restaurante, todos construídos nos anos 40 nas oficinas da NOB, como também a locomotiva a vapor #278.

Nesse trabalho contamos apoio da ferrovia Novoeste, sucessora privada da NOB, e da Prefeitura Municipal de Bauru/SP. Esperamos contar com seu apoio! A A.A.M.B. pretende junto à sociedade, conseguir patrocínios de empresas, trabalho de voluntários para restauração para quem mora em Bauru/SP ou região ou ainda pode ajudar com depósito em conta corrente da A.A.M.B. A A.A.M.B. é composta por 12 voluntários fixos sendo 6 ativos no trabalho de restauração. O trabalho está sendo constantemente fotografado e gravado em vídeo acompanhados por 2 engenheiros da Novoeste.

Com a ajuda do promotor público federal, a A.A.M.B. está tentando obter junto à R.F.F.S.A., locomotivas elétricas V8 (#6373), Russa (#6451) e Vanderléia (#6358) para serem restauradas nas cores originais da Companhia Paulista de Estradas de Ferro.
