In 1930, the PV&T completed their mainline electrification and purchased 31 more class B motors to cover the line. Aside from the disk wheels (instead of the spoked wheels under the class B1’s), these motors are visually identical to their predecessor but have better traction motors capable of 4000 continuous HP.
The class remained intact until the 1970s, when retirements reduced them to 26 units (most of which have been rebuilt with canadian cabs.)
The class leader (#243) survives in unrebuilt form, and has the dubious distinction of being painted in patriotic paint schemes both in 1976 & 2026.
