A classical "loco with engineer at the window" photo of the electric V8 locomotive, still in the G.E. locomotive works at Schenectady, U.S.A. It still shows the original factory dark green/brown livery, but already included the famous C.P. inscriptions.

Welcome my son, welcome to the Machine!
What did you dream? It's alright we told you what to dream.

Photo originally published at the Locomotiva Cyclopedia, 1956 edition. Lyrics from the song Welcome to the Machine, from the album Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.
