This extremely rare photo proves the use of electric traction in the Serra do Mar section of the Mayrink-Santos branch: it shows a freight train being pulled by two Lobas, 2000 HP electric locomotives built by General Electric and Westinghouse, running probably near Gaspar Ricardo station, as the Rio Branco ("White River") can be seen in the background. The livery of the locomotives indicates that this photo was shot between 1973 and 1975. This copy was kindly sent by Cid José Beraldo, from São Paulo SP.
