The Companhia Paulista fans could say, "there never was a sleeping car like Gilda"... This car, for some reason, was associated with the Rita Hayworth's character Gilda, in the movie with this same name. It is a single cabin sleeping car that was built in the Companhia Paulista Rio Claro maintenance works during the fifties. This photo, shot by Maurício Torres, from Miami, U.S.A., shows a São Paulo bound night train arriving in the Campinas station in 1980. The last car of this train is a Gilda car. Well, there never was a woman like Gilda... and certainly there never was a railroad like Companhia Paulista...
