This photo, called "Fog in Paranapiacaba", shows the first station in the highland line of E.F. Santos a Jundiaí. This town is frequently covered by a fog, as it is in the top of the Serra do Mar, about 800 meters above sea level but only some few kilometers from the sea. The railroad buildings and houses were built in English style - no wonder, they were designed by British engineers! It is very picturesque, although nowadays it is not so preserved as before. Another photo of this station can be seen in the Companhia Paulista page, in the color photo of the V8 locomotive. This photo, shot by Adauto Gonçalves Rodrigues, from Paranapiacaba, in 1993, was originally available in the site of the revista Ferrovia.
