This is another Pimentinha sister, pulling a special train on December 5, 1998 in the Victorian Railroads, in Australia. The locomotive shown here, L1162, was chosen to be preserved. 24 units of this 1,500 V, 2,400 HP, Co-Co locomotive were built by English Electric and delivered to Victorian Railroads between 1953 and 1954. They worked until 1987, when decrease in traffic and increase in operational costs forced the scrapping of the electrification in the Traralgon-Warragul line. This photo was originally published in the site of the Victorian Railways and was shot by Arthur Brook. This photo is reproduced here by kind permission of James Brook, webmaster of the Victorian Railways page. Thanks to Santiago Rocha, from Argentina, who told me about the Victorian Railways site.
