The Alto da Serra (Mountain High) station, now known as Paranapiacaba station. The big stackpiles of firewood and the absence of electrification overhead wires indicate that this photo was probably shot before the mid forties. The name of the station, written with big letters at the roof of the station, served to guide pilots of small planes which, at that time, used railroad lines as their routes... Photo from the Carlos Roberto Brandão collection, from Osasco SP, who kindly sent a copy to these pages.
