Rendez vous at Arantina!... This station is halfway between Barra Mansa and Lavras, so the passenger trains that travelled between these cities crossed at this station, as they shared the same single line. These blue carbon steel passenger cars were built in Brazil, at the R.M.V. maintenance works. This photo was shot by Cid José Beraldo, from São Paulo SP and kindly sent by him to E.F. Brasil, an electronic list for discussion about the Brazilian railroads. At the time when this photo was shot, September 15, 1984, he, Alberto H. del Bianco, Fábio Dardes and Nílson Rodrigues travelled in one of these Expressos from Barra Mansa to Lavras (almost twelve hours of trip...), where they had the rare opportunity to taste a Prato Feito ("ready plate"), one of the delights of the R.F.F.S.A. cuisine in the restaurant car...
