A curious photo showing Budd electric multiple units being hauled by a Lambreta, G.E. diesel-electric switching locomotive. Probably this photo was shot between Mauá and Paranapiacaba, as it shows the poles for the overhead wires already installed and only a single line. The Budd E.M.U.s arrived to E.F. Santos a Jundiaí in 1957, while electrification between these two stations was inaugurated only in 1958, so they need to be hauled by non-electric locomotives. One can note that the train shown in this photo is too long for a normal commuter train. It is only a supposition, but apparently these Budd E.M.U.s were just supplied to this railroad and were being hauled to São Paulo - who knows? This copy was kindly sent by Alex Elias Ibrahim, from São Paulo SP.
