This slip of the O Estado de São Paulo newspaper, of May 2, 1976, communicates the end of the old branch between Bauru-Piratininga-Garça, that was then replaced by a modern line. Unfortunately this was one of the last improvements that were implemented in the old Companhia Paulista lines. The railroad already was not so important for the cities it was going to left: as the newspaper reported, most people there did not know that the railroad was about to close. As a matter of fact, railroad already lost its vital imporance it had twenty or even ten years ago for those cities. This copy is ourtesy of Ricardo Frontera, from Bauru SP.
