A very rare color photo showing a freight train hauled by at least one L.E.W. diesel-electric locomotive. There are some doubts if these machines could perform multiple traction, and there is no info if both locomotives are hauling the train or if the second one is powered off. One can also see a third blue-and-yellow L.E.W. locomotive between the freight cars; probably it was a brand new 1,200 HP unit going to Campinas to be delivered to the Companhia Mogiana, another São Paulo state railroad that purchased this kind of locomotive. Photo shot in the late sixties at the Mayrink-Santos branch, probably near the Gaspar Ricardo station. Official photo by L.E.W.; this copy was originally published in the site Fotografien & Artikel Fahrzeuge - Schienfahrzeuge der DDR in den sechziger Jahren.
