View of the former Pai Mathias station, at the left side of the photo, from the cabin of a Dash-9 locomotive that is heading a Mayrink-bound freight train. Apparently the facilities of this station are being used by the indians which live in this region. At the right there is another train, with aluminium hoppers full of soya, waiting for permission to resume its trip towards Santos harbour. There is some mist ahead; it is nicknamed by the locomotive engineers as the Cavalo Branco ("White Horse"). It falls unexpectedly over the Serra do Mar at any hour of the day or night, worsening visibility; besides that, the tracks become wet and slippery, difficulting locomotion.
