When the Quebec Central died (for the second time) in 2006, their three passenger locomotives (GMD FP7s) ended up being shoved into a deadline in East Broughton, Quebec, where they rotted for 12 long years before the DLP purchased the two remaining carcasses (the third unit was cut up before the purchase) and sent them to ILW for remanufacturing.

They weren’t high priority units to get back into service, so they didn’t come out of the shops until 2022 as shiny new “F750"s (after being fitted with safety cabs – the Portland safety cab is a fairly close match to an F-unit cab, so these units ended up having the existing nose shell fitted around a safety cab skeleton), put on radial trucks, and outfitted with an AC drivetrain and Cummins QSK50 prime movers.

They are currently operating on the New England Southern, but are planned for resale to the BAR when that railroad finally switches away from EMD locomotives.
