After sitting idle for three years after Conrail bailed on the PRR’s freight electrification EMD’s electric demonstrators (GM6B # 1976, GM6C # 1975) were leased by the Delaware & Hudson for use on the Columbia & Port Deposit. They were reliable enough to stay leased until 2009, when the by-then elderly units were replaced with new multi-system K5s.
