Saint John Terminal Railway #798 in LT&L tricolour

After the LT&L purchased the CAR in 1994, they decided to electrify their St Johns terminal trackage, and after some discussions with the Canadian National ended up spinning off that newly wired track (and CN’s terminal facilities) into a jointly owned (60% LT&L, 40% CN) neutral switching railroad operating under Parsons Vale rules with a 50% LT&L/50% CN split of crew assignments.

The Saint John Terminal Railway (STJO) operates a tiny fleet of class JS and M motors, plus a class DP4 electro-diesel for switching one of J.D. Irving’s refineries where overhead wire was disallowed for safety reasons.
