BAR GP7d #631 in an approximation of the BAR's bicentennial paint

The ILW gp7d & gp9d are remanufactured, as you would expect, from EMD GP7s & 9s. They have an all-new AC drivetrain – powered by a Cummins QSK50 – for approximately 2100 HP & 82000 pounds of starting TE. The QSK50’s are not a tight fit at all, so in most cases the only visual differences between a stock GP7 & ‘7d are the ILW air intakes, one stack instead of two, and no chassis fan over the electrical compartment (there is a hot weather variant of the design that completely replaces the EMD radiator section with an Alco Century-style chimney system, and ILW will, optionally, chop their noses as part of the remanufacturing process.)

The `d' suffix is, as you might guess, for doppelgänger.
